THE SUN IN SOLAR RETURN in the Angular House

 In order to fully understand the cycle of the Sun in the solar return houses, it will be necessary to follow the Sun's yearly path, which is clockwise, 
And usually moves through three houses. 
As astrologers, we frequently think in terms of movement or interpretation from the 1st house to the 2nd house and on to the 3rd house, or from Aries to Taurus to Gemini, etc. This is a counterclockwise motion.
But in the Sun's yearly solar return cycle, the movement is reversed and it skips houses. So, to fully connect with this pattern of evolution, we will follow the solar return Sun in its own pattern, traveling clockwise year to year. For the angular houses and for the purpose of presenting a coherent and clear interpretation, we will also start with the 4th house. 

This is necessary to truly capture the meaning of this cycle of angularity.


THE SUN IN ANGULAR 4TH HOUSE

This house is the root or support system for the rest of the solar return chart. 

It can be considered the beginning of the angular cycle because it is here that one sets down roots, establishes a path, and sets the tone for the next four years. The next four years can be dependent on what is established here in the 4th House. From here the Sun will most likely travel to the 1st house and foster personal development. 

Goals established while the Sun is in the 4th House will require training, personal reorganization, and individual success to play out on a larger scale. When the Sun moves to the 10th house in two years time, roots, and personal achievements can begin to manifest in the career arena or result in major changes in the destiny path. In three years' time, when the Sun has progressed to the 7th house, other people might become involved.
